Create calculation sums and assign a code, description, and classification. Calculation sums are used by template lines to collect component or capacity amounts.
Create a calculation template
Create a template and add calculation lines. For each line, enter a row number and description, then select a totaling type:
Calculation Sum totals the matching component or capacity entries.
Charge calculates a percentage charge or discount from a base line. Manual input can be enabled for this type.
Formula calculates a result from row references and the operators +, -, *, and /.
Use Value Transfer to mark the line whose result is transferred as the unit price, cost, or another configured value. Each transfer option can be used only once per template. Template lines can be copied from another template with Functions > Copy Template Lines.
Maintain calculation prices
Open Calculation Prices from an item or work center, or use the list page. Define the sales type, sales code, item or work center, unit of measure, minimum quantity, validity dates, and calculation price. The most specific valid price is applied when the calculation plan is built.
Create and calculate a plan
Create a calculation plan, select an item and customer when applicable, enter the quantity and calculation date, and assign a calculation template. The plan shows structure lines, base lines, result lines, and any error logs. Use Check Calculation Plan Result after changes to recalculate and verify the result.
Versions and approval
Use Create New Version to retain the existing plan and work on a new version. The new version retains the header data and structure lines of the selected version; base lines and result lines are recalculated. Check the result before selecting Release Calculation Plan Result. A plan with errors cannot be released. The certified version can be used as the current plan for automatic creation on sales documents. Use Unrelease Calculation Plan Result to reopen a released result for changes.
Areas and capacity times
For items with the base unit of measure dm², the quantity can be calculated from the cut length and cut width entered in millimeters. The conversion from mm to dm² is automatic.
When a structure line contains an apportioned run time without personnel, it is split into a personnel-time line and a machine-time line when the base lines are created. Machine time is valued using the Machine Cost Weighting set up in the calculation plan setup.
Assign a production order
When a reservation exists between a sales line and a production order line, the production order number is automatically written to the calculation plan when consumption is posted for the first time. Item and capacity entries are then included in the result line details.
Archive
Use Archive Calculation Plan incl. Versions when a plan is no longer active. Depending on setup, the plan is moved to the archive tables or marked as archived in the active tables. Archived plans can be copied to create a new plan.
