When replicating master data between companies, default dimensions assigned to records in the master company may not be appropriate for target companies. For example, a customer in the master company may have a cost center dimension value that only exists in that company. The Default Dimension Mapping allows you to define dimension value overrides that are automatically applied when a default dimension is replicated into a specific company or company group.
The override is triggered whenever a default dimension is written in a target company. If no matching template is found, the dimension value from the master company is carried over unchanged.
Important
This setup is global and applies across all companies. Overrides can be defined per company group or per individual company. If a company-specific override exists, it takes precedence over a company group override.
Important
The company must belong to exactly one replication company group for group-based overrides to work correctly. If a company belongs to more than one group, an error will occur during replication.
Important
The override only applies to tables where the Def. Dim Mapping Allowed flag is enabled in the Replication Table Setup.
Evaluation Order
Multiple rows can be defined for the same combination of company/group, table ID, and dimension code by using different Sequence values. Rows are evaluated in ascending sequence order. The first row where the Source Dimension Value Code matches the current value (or is empty) is applied. All subsequent rows are ignored.
Fields
Sequence
Specifies the evaluation order within a set of entries sharing the same company/group, table ID, and dimension code. Lower values are checked first. The first matching row wins — all further rows are ignored.
Company Group
Specifies the replication company group this override applies to. When a company belonging to this group receives a replicated default dimension, the defined dimension value will be applied instead of the one from the master company.
Note
Either Company Group or Company must be specified — not both.
Company
Specifies an individual company this override applies to. Takes precedence over a company group override if both are defined for the same Table ID and Dimension Code.
Note
Either Company Group or Company must be specified — not both.
Table ID
Specifies the ID of the table whose default dimension is being overridden. Only tables where Def. Dim Mapping Allowed is enabled in the Replication Table Setup are available for selection.
Table Name
Displays the name of the selected table. This field is filled automatically.
Dimension Code
Specifies the dimension for which the value should be overridden during replication.
Source Dimension Value Code
Specifies the dimension value from the master company that this row should match. If left empty, the row acts as a wildcard and matches any source value regardless of what is stored in the master company.
Target Dimension Value Code
Specifies the dimension value to apply in the target company instead of the value from the master company. If left empty, the dimension value in the target company will be set to empty.
