General

The app ZPL Printer Management Base defines tables and pages, to declare zpl printers and zpl layouts. The user can define the zpl printer to use for a distinct layout & username combination (similar to the Printer Selection in Business Central). Furthermore, this app defines functions to establish a connection with a specified printer, retrieve a specified zpl layout from the database, etc.

Zebra Cloud Connect Accounts

Multiple Zebra Cloud credentials can be set up in the Zebra Cloud Connect Accounts. Multiple printers can be accessed and set up per account.

Fields

Account NameSpecifies the Zebra Cloud Connect account name.
Account IDIndicates the Zebra Cloud Connect account id.

Actions

  • Get Account Id

    Read the account name and account id with the set up web authorization.
  • Load Printer

    Reloads all printers from Zebra Cloud Connect and adds them to the list.
  • Printer

    Show all printers of the account.

Zebra Cloud Connect Printer Mapping

The Zebra Cloud Connect Printer Mapping page is invoked when the printers are retrieved from Zebra Cloud. Because only the serial number can be set up in the Zebra Cloud, the other information must be entered manually when retrieving the printers from the Zebra Cloud. In this view you can then select whether printers should be added, updated or deleted.

AddSpecifies if you want to add the printer to the list.
Printer ExistsSpecifies the value of the Printer Exists field.

Working with the app

First, a user account must be created in the Zebra Cloud.

Note

There may be costs in the Zebra Cloud itself. Intended for development purposes, there is a free service plan that only supports a limited number of calls per day. For more information, see SendFileToPrinter Payment Plan For more information, see Getting Started
Please follow the instructions at Getting Started. There you will create an API key and this will then be required in Business Central. Create a new account under Zebra Cloud Connect Accounts. First you have to enter the received API key. You can then use Read account ID to enter the account name and account ID of your account from the Zebrea Cloud in Business Central. This is done via the stored authorization via API key. The endpoint URL and API key header name are filled in automatically. After the account data has been entered, the printers must be read using Load Printer. If printers are available, the mask
