 Import Service Allocation Journal

2026/05/07 • 2 min. to read
In the Service Allocation Journal, journal lines can be imported from an Excel file via the action Import from Excel. This can be used, for example, to transfer postings from other systems.

Column Setup

The Import from Excel - Column Setup action is used to set up the columns for importing from Excel.

Note

If no columns have been set up, a default is generated based on the cost dimensions that have been defined.

Fields

Journal Batch NameSpecifies the name of the journal for which the configuration applies. If no name is specified, the configuration applies to all journals that do not have their own configuration.
Column No.Specifies the Excel column number (e.g. 4 for column D) for the field. The order of the columns also determines the order of validation when importing into the journal.

Note

Columns may also be omitted. During import, only the columns configured here will be taken into account, all other columns will be ignored.
Field No.Specifies the field into which the data from the column should be imported. If no field number is specified, the column will be ignored during import.
Column HeaderSpecifies the header of the Excel column.

Note

The Posting Type field can be set up as a column, but this is not mandatory. During import, the Posting Type for the line is automatically set to Quantity Transfer if only a Quantity is specified.

Create an Excel Workbook

The Excel workbook required for the import can be created using the Create Excel Workbook for Import action. The workbook is created based on the current Column Setup.

Import

Once the data has been entered into the Excel workbook, it can be imported using the Import from Excel action.
